Name classes
Described by kind, never published as a list.
We do not post our names. The company a name belongs with already knows it, and a public list mostly attracts resellers. Here is what we hold, by class.
The classes
- Trade words
- One or two plain words that name what a business does: a craft, a service, a line of work. The kind of name a customer types without thinking about it.
- Product terms
- The common name of a thing that is made, sold or shipped, usually in the words a buyer uses rather than a catalogue code.
- Place and trade
- A region, state or town joined to a trade. These suit companies whose customers find them by where they work.
- Working terms
- Words from farming, freight, building and manufacturing that sound dull to outsiders and exact to the people in the trade.
What we do not hold
No names built on someone else's trademark, no misspellings of known brands, no personal names. If a name could only ever belong to one existing company because it is that company's mark, it is not a name we would offer to anyone else.
Have a domain in mind?
Put it in the first field of the form. If it is ours you will hear the figure; if not, we will say so.
